در این مطالعه با استفاده از الگوی تعادل عمومی پویای تصادفی فرضیه عدم تقارن شوک‌‌های پولی در ادوار تجاری ایران طی دوره 1390-1357 بر متغیرهای کلان اقتصادی مورد آزمون قرار می‌گیرد. مدل طراحی‌شده، چارچوب تحلیلی مدل‌های تعادل عمومی پویای تصادفی را با توجه به خصوصیات اقتصادی یک کشور صادرکننده نفت گسترش می‌دهد. برای استخراج ادوار تجاری نیز از روش روند زمانی فیلتر هودریک-پرسکات استفاده شده است. نتایج تحقیق حاکی از آن است که اثرات شوک‌های پولی مثبت و منفی در دوران رکود و رونق اقتصادی نامتقارن بوده به طوری که تأثیر شوک مثبت در دوران رکود در اقتصاد ایران در بازه زمانی مورد مطالعه بر روی سطح قیمت‌ها قوی‌تر از شوک منفی بوده است. از طرفی نتایج نشان می‌دهد که تأثیر شوک مثبت در دوران رونق در اقتصاد ایران بر روی سطح قیمت‌ها میزان آن را متناسب با اندازه شوک تغییر می¬دهد؛ اما تأثیر شوک منفی در دوران رونق بر سطح قیمتها ابتدا تورم را کاهش داده و سپس بعد از مدت کوتاهی دوباره تورم افزایش می‌یابد. لذا می‌توان بیان کرد که در اقتصاد ایران در هر دو حالت رکود و رونق اقتصادی تورم افزایش می‌یابد. در مورد تولید و سرمایه گذاری نیز این عدم تقارن به صورتی است که در شرایط رکود اقتصادی سیاست انبساطی بهتر نتیجه می‌دهد و در رونق اقتصادی سیاست بهینه سیاست انقباضی است.
