پژوهش حاضر با برآورد یک سیستم معادلات همزمان، به بررسی ارتباط چک¬های برگشتی با رشد اقتصادی از کانال ریسک‌ اعتباری بانک‌ها، با استفاده از داده¬های ترکیبی 31 استان ایران در بازه زمانی 1390 تا 1394 می پردازد. در این راستا، ابتدا عوامل مؤثر بر شاخص چک¬های برگشتی بررسی شده و سپس رابطه چک¬های برگشتی با مطالبات غیرجاری بانک‌ها و همچنین رابطه متغیر اخیر با تسهیلات اعطایی بانک‌ها و در نهایت رابطه تسهیلات اعطایی بانک‌ها با رشد اقتصادی برآورد می‌گردد. نتایچ نشان می¬دهد که نسبت چک¬های برگشتی به GDP تابعی مستقیم از شاخص قیمت¬ها و معکوس از انحراف تولید از روند است به طوری که در شرایط رکود و تورم با کاهش امکان بازپرداخت بدهی¬ها، چک¬های برگشتی افزایش می¬یابد. همچنین با بهبود شاخص اجرای قانون در راستای توسعه نظام حقوقی و قضایی کشور، تعداد پرونده‌ چک‌های برگشتی در مقیاس فعالیت های اقتصادی کشور کاهش می‌یابد. از سوی دیگر افزایش تعداد چک¬های برگشتی، با فرض ثابت بودن متغیرهای کنترل، منجر به افزایش مطالبات غیرجاری بانکها به مانده تسهیلات شده و ریسک اعتباری بانک‌ها را می‌افزاید. نتایج حاکی از اثر منفی متغیر مطالبات غیرجاری بانک¬ها بر قدرت وام دهی بانکها است. بررسی اثر تسهیلات بانکی بر رشد اقتصادی از کانال بهره¬وری نشان می دهد که رابطه رشد اقتصادی با اعطای تسهیلات بانکی مثبت و معنادار است. بنابراین در اقتصاد ایران افزایش چک¬های برگشتی، از کانال کاهش قدرت وام¬دهی و تسهیلات بانک¬ها، بر رشد اقتصادی دارای اثر منفی است
